In next few minutes the sun will go down as usual. Today it will take all good, bad memories of 2008 with him and will come up again tomorrow with new morning, new day, new month, new year.
Who says men can not shop ? After listening lots of taanebaaji from my mother and sister, I decided to show off my shopping skills. I selected Big Bazaar in Raghuleela mall at Vashi .. next to my office.
With the courage of Shreeshant facing Brett Lee's bawling attack on Austrelian pitch, I straight way headed to grocery section. Took a trolly and started roaming around reading names and rates. I felt little confident after reading the names and called mom. Asked her to tell me what items I should bring. She was it surprised when she heard I am in mall for shopping. She started the list .. mug ardha kilo, masur, udid daal pav kilo, chavali ek kilo, vaal changale astil tar ek kilo etc. etc. etc. Suddenly the items I saw few minutes ago started looking unfamiliar to me :) I double checked the section I was standing in. Tried doing some R&D but didn't work.
Mom was firing requests one after the other. After 5-6 minutes, I was about to give up. Suddenly I saw one kaku - aged 50-52 shopping next to me. She was looking at me for last 2-3 minutes. I gave my GREAT SMILE (pitty) with my chinese eyes (michmiche dole), innocent looks (bavlat aani buddhu chehraa) and dimples (galache khadde). Then things started moving smoothly. Kaku found all items my mom requested .. after that my part was just to pull the trally. The toughest section in question paper was solved :)
Then there was one more confusion in soaps section. I found it extremely difficult to classify soap bar used to wash cloths and utensils. All the names were looking similar. Finally I found the correct ones by recollecting their advertisements. (Prashant Damle : bayko geli maheri, kaam kari pitambari etc.)
Finally, I should say .. the attempt was successful. I could collect more than 85% of the requested items. And the lesson learned was ... next time first find some kaku and then only call mom :D

Today I was returning from my office. Deonar abattoir is on my way. For last one week there is traffic jam because of Bakri Eid. Every evening I see vehicles carrying male goats - bakras. Today I saw one family - a man with his 6-8 yrs old child carrying a bakra in a rickshaw. Generally these animals are not used to with traffic, traveling in vehicles, noises etc. In this auto, the kid was feeding some fresh leaves to the goat and goat was eating it. Both were very much gelled and comfortable with each other. The kid was hugging goat, loving him and the animal was enjoying his company too.
Tomorrow is Bakri Eid and that family is going to kill that animal. Most of the time not in just one single shot .. the animal is going to experience slow painful death - halaal . Does that small kid or that animal aware of it ? If yes, can they have same feeling for each other which they are having now ?
I don't want to make comment on anyone's religion or tradition. But why any GOD will be pleased with any form of kurbani ? Afterall, all living beings are his children only.

Its very difficult to miss SaReGaMaPa Little Champs program if you are a Zee marathi viewer. This program is simply amazing. Its far better than the standard reality shows and talent hunt competitions. The performances by little kids are just too good. I watch it every week without fail. I have downloaded song mp3s and watched several youtube videos.
Today I went to office as usual. After yesterday's massacre, fighting is still going on in South Mumbai. Despite of warning from police, I went out of my home. May be because I work at Vashi which is 40 kms away from the terror spot; may be I am fearless or just careless; or I have asked my team members to come and my boss is also here ... whatever ...
What I can do at home otherwise ? Watch same 'BREAKING NEWS' again and again ? Take rest and do nothing ? or go to terror spot and help people somehow ?
Young people with age 20-25 are carrying out such attacks. At this age, I was not even graduated. These terrorists are all set to take other people's lives without even understanding its meaning.Can you stop these people ? You can't. No one can stop them. They don't fear death hence they can do anything. I appreciate the great ability of terrorists leaders - they can market 'death'. They can encourage some one to die for something. Can any HR manager do that ?
Then how it can be stopped ? Increase security, have more spending on intelligence, defense, technology so that such attacks can be detected and prevented ? We are at War. So the solution is to win the war or prevent the war ?

Just got the news about firing in south mumbai and western suberbs area. Terrorists are targetting Mumbai city again. A sad incident. Why can't people live and let others live happily ? What one achieves by killing some one else ?

Finally I have found an interesting position for myself in finance domain - A Rocket Scientist :-) . As per wikipedia article - Financial markets, A Rocket Scientist is a slang term used for financial consultant at the zenith of mathematical and computer programming skill. They are able to invent derivatives of frightening complexity and construct sophisticated pricing models. They generally handle the most advanced computing techniques adopted by the financial markets since the early 1980s. Typically, they are physicists and engineers by training. Interesting job isn't it ;-) ?

Few Thoughts
- Think globally, invest locally.
- For short term investments do not care about business and actual company. Focus on numbers, trends, news and mass psychology. For long term investments - think in terms of businessman and investor both. For mid term investments, give mroe priority to events than fundamentals but do not neglect fundamentals and technical analysis.
- Read the news and read the results. But How they relate with each other must be decided by your own judgment. Do not just believe on new channel analysis as they are only good at increasing their TRP.
- Don't panic or don't be greedy. You should know when to average or when to quit. And never ever evaluate stock after you quit. Have confidence(not over confidence) in you and your analysis.
Long Term Investments - With a target more than 3 years i.e. 2011 end.
Mid term investments - With a target of one to two months.
Day Trading - The daily loss should not exceed 5% of the total amount.
Cash Flows
- Initial investment of Rs. 50,000
- Expected earning (cash out) rs. 2,000 to 3,000 per month without reducing existing 50,000 amount. That makes 25 to 30% returns per year.
- Cash available in the account should be minimum 10% and maximum 50% of the total amount at the end of the day.
